Catching Palkia

About 2 weeks ago, I was playing my DS Pokemon Pearl when I got to the stage of the game to see Palkia, the main legendary pokemon of Pokemon Pearl. Palkia is a Water-Dragon type while the legendary on Pokemon Diamond, Dialga is a Steel-Dragon type.

To start off, I stocked up 20 Ultraballs and 20 Duskballs and 5 escape ropes to get out of Mount Coronet. Then I headed for Mount Coronet's peak. There were some Galactic Grunts there but then I ticked them off one by one easily with my Infernape and Luxray. Then there is this way to go out of Mount Coronet into the sides, there were snow there and there were wild Abomansnows there!

Then I came back in Mount Coronet and fought off more Team Galactic Grunts until I reach the Pillar which I forgot the name and fought with my rival against the 2 Galactic Comander in a 2 on 2 battle, it was quite tough but then we finished them off. After the battle my rival healed all my Pokemon and just ran away, leaving me to fight the Galactic Boss Cyrus on my own.

His pokemon's levels were far above mine but then I just fought his pokemon by weakness and I finally beat him and fought Palkia, what a tyring day it was. But then I ticked Palkia's health bit by bit making sure not to kill it. When it was in the red zone, I threw 3 Ultraballs and finally caught him.

Bagan Lalang Beach

Last Thursday on the Chinese New Year holiday, since my dad was here at KL we all decided to spend the day on the beach at Bagan Lalang.

The journey took about 2 hours and as always, the scenery was plain old palm trees everywhere. It was really boring so I just fell asleep. I expeted Bagan Lalang to have only a few visitor but now, it has become more famous and the parking area was ful of cars but the beach wasn't really though. We finnaly found a spot and parked in reverse, backside of car facing the beach so we could sit at the trunk of our Nissan X-Trail.

The first thing I did was got my kite ready, I checked the wind, string of kite and set up the kite. Then the kite flew off suddenly and I had no trouble getting the kite up high. Once it was high, I saw several other kids come with what looked like new kites. They seem to have trouble getting their kites up, I guess they're still practicing just like me when I was about 7 or 8. I had my kite for a long time up and then took quite along time to reel back down.

After I managed to get the kite down, I walked over to the car, sat on the trunk and ate the Big Mac we bought at McDonalds before we went to the beach. My sisters were playing in the sand digging. After I finished my meal, my sister went in and ate while I went out to fly my kite once more. Another group of kids came in and flew their kites, they got their kites up easily and yeah thats it they got it up easily.

Now it was time to get back home so I reeled in my kite, wiped the sand off it, folded it and stowed it in the car. We were planning to eat at the seafood restaurant we always went to after playing at Bagan Lalang beach nearby. But then the restaurant was closed and so we headed to the Curve to eat at Pho Hoa. My dad got lost and so I told him to follow the Ampang way so when we got there we ate and then went back home.

Maximum Ride, Saving The World And Other Extreme Sports Book Review

During the Chinese new year break, my mom told me to chose and finish a book and after I finished to post a book review on my blog, so I looked around the bookshelf and scanned for books I haven't read yet. Finally, I found a book that looked quite good and started reading, it is called Maximum Ride:Saving The World And Other Extreme Sports by James Patterson.

The Book is about 6 kids: Max, Nudge, Angel, Fang, Iggy and Gasman whose DNA's were geneticaly mixed with bird gene and grew wings. On the previous book, which I haven't read they were trapped in the School, where they were used in experiments and in this book the kids escaped and flew all around America to find a safe home to live in, their journey gets blocked by different kinds of obstacles like Flyboys who were robots from the School that were made to kill sent to get the flock. Then they discover that the whole journey looking for their safe home was actually a dream and they were still in the School. The story goes on as the flock tries to get out and stop Itex's plan to kill half the population of the world.

My favourite part of the book was when all the kids all over the world try to destroy the Itex branches all over the world, and how they knew was because Fang had a blog that informs the world about the flock and their condition. It woud be a really cool scene if there was a movie about the book.

I think this book could be my new favourite book because it has all the action packed in it and the author, James Patterson has wrote it in a special style I noticed, he switches from 1st Person to 3rd person after a few chapters, in the 1st person he would talk as Max and in the 3rd person he would be like the narator of a scene where Max isn't present.

Pets Wonderland in Midvalley

On the weekends, when my dad was back from Miri, we went to Midvalley Megamall to spend the day. I don't know why but my parents keep getting lost on the route to MIdvalley everytime we go there. But then eventually they made out the route.

The main reason we wanted to go to MIdvalley was to see the international cat show, but then I also had no idea on when it ended, so in our despair, the exhibition hall was closed which meant that the cat show was no longer available.

So then my sister wanted to se animals, so we headed to the Pets Wonderland which was opposite of the exhibition hall. As I remembered, the Pets Wonderland used to have 2 storeys of the shop, but now the lower part became other shops and Pets WOnderland is the one above.

Although, the size of the shop got smaller, it was stil consiedred big because it stretches all the way from one end of the center circle (That's what I call it aniway) to the other. The entrance, was a narrow place for the staircase, as we entered, there was the pet accesorry items, then there was this cat center. By the cat center was the rodent center, where they sell, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs and etc. and their accesories too. Next was the rabbits then the fishes with aquariums and food and etc. on the far right side was the dog's area, near the cats zone.

I think that the pet shop is really neat, and is organized, they also had the place clean, both enclosures and where people walk. I wanted a rabbit but then I still couldnt figure out on where to put it so my parents did not allow. Overall, I think Pets WOnderland is a great place to get pets and accesories.

Brunei

During my visit in Miri we also went to visit Bruunei for a day...

It was actually an unexpected trip, because it started when we were eating breakfast in a cafe and my mom suddenly said that we could go to Brunei that day so we headed there straightaway. During the trip we came across a huge market in the middle of nowhere and it was pretty crowded too. The journey didn't take that long, before entering immigration we passed through this really tall bridge. The immigration was just like the one in SIngapore only there were less booths. As we entered, I saw a really long line of cars going from Brunei to Miri.

Brunei was really clean but on the road from immigration to Kuala Belait, there was no street lights at all. Once we got to Kuala Belait, we stopped at a petrol station and went to the toilet. I noticed that the petrol gauge was getting low but then my dad said it can still last. The first thing we did was look for lunch, my mom's friend said that there was a good satay restaurant somewhere, we kept looking for it but didn't find anything, so we ate at this small restaurant serving Indonesian food, but before that we had to look for a money changer, we looked everywhere and asked around and finally we found one.

We then went around Kuala Belait, we didn't get to Brunei Darussalam as we went we saw dozens of oil wells, they were like see-saws but much bigger. After that we drove to the beach and played around there for a while only. Now the petrol was running real low, we went to a petrol station but then the pump assistant said that you need a form kind of thing for cars from other cities to fill up, so my parents pleaded and finally they gave us a little bit only.

And that was the end of the trip, now in the immigration the line of cars from Miri to Brunei was the longer one. Once in Miri, we filled up petrol and went back to the hotel.

Miri Crocodile Farm

As I mentioned on the post about Miri, I went to Miri Crocodile Farm. Now on this post, I'm going to talk about more about the crocodile farm.

As we arrived in the farm, there was a lake there. I thought that the crocodiles might be there and plus, there is no fence around the place. But then I noticed that all the crocodiles are kept in the farm, surrounded by a tall, sturdy fence.

My mom bought the tickets and we entered. The souvenier shop was right in front of the entrance and there is a tuck shop there. There was a path leading all the way through the farm. The first enclosure was of course, the crocodiles. I forgot what kind of crocodiles they were but they looked like Nile Crocodiles to me. This enclosure was also the main attraction since they have feeding times and shows there. The people built this stage with railings around them (Of course) that was high up for the visitors to look at the crocodiles even more closely.

The second enclosure was, well they were lots of other small enclosures that contained lots of other animals such as birds, porcupines, otters and lots more. They even have bats there and owls. Next was more crocodiles but these looks like smaller ones than the ones at the main enclosure.

We then kept following the path which leads to a bridge crossing a lake. My sisters were quite scared since the bridge was quite tall. It looks like that the path is coming to an end after the bridge and we had to walk on dirt, but that did'nt matter much to me. On the dirt route, there were deers, cows, and birds that looked like ostriches which I was not sure of what they were, I think they were called the Casuary or something, the most dangerous birds on the planet, anyway, the last enclosures were the sun bears and the rare crocodiles.

After we were done touring around we bought ice creams and went back to the hotel. I think that the farm was very interesting and those were the first times I came to a bunch of crocodiles really close. I also think that the Miri Crocodile farm would be an awesome place to spend your weekends in, oh did I mention that there is also a fishing pond there but I did not go there.

Miri

My dad got a job in Miri and he is planning to get all of us to move there with him so we all could be together again. So after the new year, my whole family went to visit Miri for 2 weeks and have a look around the city...

Miri is located in the north of Sarawak and is close to Brunei. It is a small city so it would be rather convenient to live there since it is small which makes it easier to go places, it's clean and even I can say it's cleaner than Kuala Lumpur. The only negative thing I think about Miri are the schools, I'm not saying they're bad, but I'm saying that there is hardly a single International school here instead all of them are either local schools and Chinese schools. and so I had to go into this mostly Chinese private school and my sisters go to this local private school where they speak mostly Malay.

On our stay in Miri we stayed in a hotel in the center of miri called the Imperial Hotel, as I said since Miri is small, it is easy to go places and in 2 days we have covered the whole city already, we found a number of good restaurants too. We visited my school a day after we arrived and I have to say , it was quite big and looked clean, we also met the head master and the he explained everything about the school and the subjects I was to take because there are options to either take Chinese classes or English classes. He also mentioned that there will also be a bit of Malay on both options.

At the weekend we visited the crocodile farm and almost went on the borders dividing Miri and Brunei. We were excited to go to the crocodile farm and my sisters were scared, especially Timi. There were more than just crocodiles in the farm, they had animals that lived around the crocodile's habitat too, like monkeys, otters and more. There were even birds, like owls, pigeons and lots more. At the end, my mom bought me and my sisters ice cream, we sat down by the porch of the souvenir house and ate.

Overall I think Miri will be an excellent place to live in because of the convinience and the small size of the city and especially the traffic, there are hardly any jams most of the time, even on rush hours, there were stil no traffic.

Indonesia Day 2

It has been a long time since I came back from Indonesia and I have quite forgotten on what I did back then. So I'm going to try my hardest to remember the past events.

It was the Idhul Adha day all over the world that day which was a Thursday. My dad, uncle and I got ready for the prayer. We decided to have the prayer in the mosque of my old school in Indonesia since it was close to my house. The prayer was just like the Ramadhan prayer except on Idhul Adha, they tell you the results for the donations of animals like goats and cows and money to give to the poor.

After the prayer the three of us went to the market to get some breakfast. Luckily this market wasn't one of the dirty and wet markets, infact it used to be a wet market but now they have renovated it into a building with a hall in the middle for the stalls to open. My uncle said that there was this good rice shop wherer we could get really delicious "Gudeg". I quite forgot what I ate but it was yummy.

By the time we were home there was nothing to do, so I played my DS. After several hours I finished my Pokemon game and started watching the TV, I liked the TV here much better than the one in Kuala Lumpur since they have my favourite channels here of course, full of seriously funny comedy (Even I think they're way beter than the shows on Star World).

Then my uncle had to go somewhere. It took a really long time for him to get back and when he got back he brought one of my favourite traditional food, the "Opor" which almost all Indonesian Muslims have when it was Idul Adha or Ramadhan. The Opor comes with Ketupat, another Indonesian food to go with it, It is rice wrapped in coconut leaves and boiled.

I watched more TV afterwards till the evening. This was my favourite time because there is this comedy show caled OB "Office Boy", it's very popular. I then took a bath and the three of us went to this restaurant where we ate the Nasi Uduk. After we got our stomachs filed we went back home to get some sleep.

Going To Indonesia Day 1

On the 15th of December my dad already has come back from Africa. He had something to do in Indonesia and my mom said I had to come with him.

Plane tickets were very rare at this time of the year and aireports are full since it is almost time for Hari Raya Idul Adha, Christmas and New Year's eve which makes people go all over the world which makes airports full and plane tickets to get rare.

Finally we got a KLM ticket and checked in at the airport, the boarding time was 4 PM. As usual, the plane took 1 and an half hour to get to Indonesia.

My uncle will be waiting for us in Jakarta to get us to the hotel since my dad got 2 free nights at a hotel in Jakarta. My uncle decided that he will stay at the hotel that night since his office is close to the hotel. So he took us back to my house and took his clothes, since now he lives there.

As soon as we reached our room, I quickly fell asleep because of the tyring flight and the traffic jams from the airport to my house and then to the hotel.

When I woke up the next morning my uncle has gone to his office. I went down myself to the breakfast place and helped myself to fried rice and sausages. By the time I was back in the room my dad already got ready for some things he had to do.

I waited in the hotel the whole day till my uncle came back and took me to my neighbour's house, but then when we called, Teguh, my neighbour has already gone off for his holiday with his family. My uncle then made a U-turn and drove back to the hotel, ate lunch and went back up to the room. When we got there my dad was already there waiting. I took a shower and all 3 of us went back to my house.

We went back to my house because my dad decided that he rather stay at our own house for the rest of the week.

My Sister's PSP

At the start of the new year holiday, my dad came back from Africa and has something to do in Indonesia. My mom told me to come along with him to keep him company. And on the last day there we were going around this new mall called Senayan City. Then I saw an electronic store while I was looking for a casing for my NDS.

There, my dad saw a PSP and asked for the price, just like usual. Then he finally decided since it was almost my sister, Timi's birthday which is on the 30th of December. So my dad tried to bargain but then he can't, so he tried another shop and still can't so we went to the last shop and he gave up and bought it there. He also told the salesman to also put on the screen protector, it took a really long time to get the screen protector on. Finally when the guy was done we went back home.

My dad bought a black psp. Unfortunately, we couldn't choose the game to go along with it so we got this lame adventure game. The psp was not a normal one, it was indeed the newest one the Sony PSP SLim & Lite. There were also a couple of games already installed in the PSP, my favourite was Ridge Racer, come to think of it, every PSP I've seen has Ridge Racer already installed on it, so whats the deal with Ridge Racer and PSP I thought. Also when we got the psp back to Malaysia, Fida played it all the time while Timi hardly even plays it.
